HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Today, moderate trade winds are present, leading to occasional showers in windward and mauka areas; however, the overall weather remains predominantly dry. A notable change is anticipated in the coming days as high pressure develops north of the islands, which will likely enhance the trade winds, increasing to breezy conditions by Thursday and possibly reaching locally strong gusts by the weekend.
As for rainfall, limited showers are expected through Thursday, with a potential rise in windward and mauka showers late Friday into the weekend as moisture flows in from the east along with an upper-level disturbance. An increase in showers may also occur Saturday night into early next week, although the amount of rainfall remains uncertain. Beachgoers will find that north and west shores will have gradually decreasing surf until Friday, while a new northwest swell is forecasted to arrive late Friday into the weekend.
